Fraport announced the earlier -than scheduled – renovation of 14 regional airports it manages in Greece
Fraport Greece this week will unveil the 14 renovated airports around Greece that the German-Greek consortium manages, one of the more successful privatizations recorded in the country over the past decade of economic turmoil.
According to the Athens-based consortium, led by German multinational Fraport, the works at the regional airports – located in the country’s premier holiday destinations – were completed three months before schedule.

Fraport delivers refurbished Thessaloniki airport
The airport of Thessaloniki, delivered three months ahead of schedule, has been transformed into a totally different airport, almost double in size, with two terminals connected by an air bridge, a modern design in gray, brand new check-in areas, double departure gates, new restaurants and many additional facilities, a Fraport official told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Wednesday.

Greek airport manager Fraport calls for complementary infrastructure
Upgrades at Greece’s 14 regional airports are moving full speed ahead with an outlook for 2021, said Fraport CEO Alexander Zinell, but for these to have a positive impact on tourism, the economy and on local communities, complimentary infrastructure must be in place.
