The 43rd anniversary of the 1973 Polytechnic uprising will peak on Thursday with a march to the US Embassy, at 3 pm.
"The meaning of the Polytechnic uprising is everlasting. It has not been affected by time and continues to touch all the generations and particularly those young people that were not born at that time. We are holding the thread of the Polytechnic uprising and we are creating a new Greece," said Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in the parliament plenum on Thursday in a session dedicated to the Polytechnic uprising in 1973.
The Athens metro stations Syntagma, Evangelismos, and Megaro Moussikis on Tuesday will be closed after 2.30 pm for security reasons, by order of the police, due to the November 17 anniversary commemorating the 1973 student uprising at the Athens Polytechnic, against a military junta
