Bus catches on fire in northern Greece
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Moments of horror unfolded on a motorway when a tourist bus headed to Kozani was set on fire while it was in the tunnels of the Egnatia Motorway in Vermio.
The fire broke out under unknown conditions as the bus headed from the coastal area of Halkidiki to Kozani, just before the Polymylos toll.
The driver of the bus calmly managed to get the vehicle out of the tunnel, to stop it on the edge of Egnatia and to lower all the passengers safely, without jeopardizing any of them. Firefighters from Veria rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire.
