Kostas Vlachos Reigns as Nostos' Head Chef

Greek born and bred culinary expert Kostas Vlachos is now the head chef at Vienna, Virginia's Nostos Restaurant.

Vlachos hails from Agrinio and has been working in the restaurant industry for eleven years, working his way up from line cook to head chef. His current fine-dining post allows him to create traditional Hellenic cuisine with an American twist.

The Greek cooking expert came to the United States for the "American Dream" and now successfully works six days a week. The 26-year-old gourmet cook worked in areas all over Greece before Virginia, but plans on staying in the United States. From an early age, he loved to create culinary masterpieces. Vlachos made his first cake in primary school and continued devising recipes and items. The chef's current position just outside of Washington, D.C., allows him to further develop his own ideas, which was his career goal.

The Greek culinary artist attended OTEC School for Tourism and Hospitality and completed his studies in 2003. Since graduating, he has cooked for The White House and the American Museum of Natural History with Maria Loi, and many other prestigious benefits and fundraisers around the United States.
