FBI Rescues Kidnapped Man
A North Carolina kidnapped man was rescued by the FBI today, and returned home safely.
Frank Arthur Janssen was taken hostage from his house five days ago, and was located by the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team in Atlanta. He has been reunited with his family.
His kidnapping was related to a detailed plan that included five or more criminals, who now face federal kidnapping charges. Janssen was extricated five minutes prior to midnight last night, from the Forest Cove apartment complex in Atlanta.
The complex story revolves around demands relayed to Janssen's relatives "for the benefit" of Kevin Melton, who is serving a life sentence without parole at Polk Correctional Institution. Janseen's daughter, who works as a Wake County assistant district attorney, prosecuted the inmate. The Wake Forest Police Department, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the FBI in Atlanta and Charlotte, and additional law enforcement sectors are investigating the case further.
