Cypriot President Reconfirms Solution Commitment
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has commented that the South is very devoted to implementing confidence building efforts, to create faith and trust between the two territories in finding a beneficial solution for both parties.
According to Parikiaki, the President also asked for political and citizen solidarity that is a must for a comprehensive and positive solution.
Yesterday, Anastasiades addressed an Amiantos village ceremony and stated: "The adoption of the Joint Declaration on February 11, paved the way for continuing the constructive negotiations between the two communities, aimed at finding a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem based on the High Level Agreements between the two communities, the UNSC resolutions and the principles and values of the EU" (www.parikiaki.com).
During the event, the President laid a wreath at Evagoras Papachristoforou's monument and placed a foundation stone of a building that will be named in his honor. Anastasiades reconfirmed that finding an island resolution remains a top priority of the government. He also stated that third nation collaboration, especially with Greece, remains stellar.
