Deadly Long Island Bus & Truck Collision
A deadly Coach USA bus accident occurred on Long Island this morning, at approximately 9:00 a.m.
A collision between a Dodge pick-up truck and the bus, resulted in one death and two injuries. The accident happened on Roslyn Road near Albertson and Heathcote Drive.
The Nassau County Police Department stated that apparently, the Dodge pick-up lost control and veered into oncoming traffic. The truck nearly hit the bus head on, which then slammed into a tree, as WCBC 880's Mike Xirinachs reported. The case remains under investigation.
Observers of the scene disclosed to police that the truck was speeding, resulting in the driver's death. The Coach USA driver and one passenger were the only ones aboard the bus, and have both been hospitalized. Roslyn Road has since been completely shut down in both traffic directions.
