Ο Ράφαελ Ναδάλ ήταν ανίκητος στον σημερινό ημιτελικό με τον Στέφανο Τσιτσιπά και δεν άφησε περιθώρια στον 20χρονο Ελληνα τενίστα.
Ετσι, ο σπουδαίος Ισπανός με 3-0 σετ (2-6, 4-6, 0-6) πέρασε στον τελικό του Australian Open, με τον Τσιτσιπά να δείχνει ότι έχει όλο το μέλλον μπροστά του για να φτάσει στο επίπεδο του Ναδάλ και να διεκδικεί τρόπαιο σε τόσο μεγάλα τουρνουά. Αλλωστε είναι ήδη μεγάλη επιτυχία εκεί που βρέθηκε.
