A Greek sign is making the rounds on the Internet, causing smiles, due to a glaring error that is probably due to some automatic translation system.

The Greek-Turkish rapprochement process is moving within a framework of step-by-step efforts to maintain a calm climate and manage issues that could provoke tensions in the immediate future. Naturally, the significant distance separating the two countries on the major issue of maritime delimitation defines both the framework and the limits of this challenging undertaking.

President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he is nominating Kimberly Guilfoyle for US ambassador to Greece. Guilfoyle, a former Fox News anchor, had a relationship with Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr.

Present at the honorary event were the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras and the Deputy Minister of Energy Alexandra Sdoukou and the founder & CEO of the shipping company Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) Nikolaos Tsakos.

“This is the fifth time I am here. The first time was in 2019 and I had promised on behalf of the Greek government that Greece would return. And it did. We managed to stabilize the Greek economy, significantly reduce debt and unemployment,” said the Minister of Infrastructure during the event.

Speaking after the end of the Conference, Staikouras stated the following: "We are presenting the report of our actions in the last year, as we had committed to a year ago at the same conference. And indeed, as the political leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, this year we delivered the Aktio-Ambrakia road axis, we delivered a significant section of the E65, we significantly renewed the bus fleet in Athens and Thessaloniki and very recently we also delivered the metro in Thessaloniki, the most emblematic project of the capital. And we continue. We continue with methodical hard work and planning. So that at the end of the four years we can deliver more humane and more accessible transportation for all citizens throughout the territory.
