There are many signs that Greek-American relations have long entered another level compared to the regime that existed in all previous decades. It is well known that Washington looked on Turkey and Greece as a package ever since the time when the two countries joined NATO in the early 1950s. This doctrine has cracked if it is not completely broken. The cause is the "tectonic" changes taking place in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
