A Greek truck driver has been shot and arrested by Turkish police at the Ipsala border station, authorities have said.

After a two-day hiatus, tensions at the Greek-Turkish border near the Kastanies customs post in the Evros region resumed on Wednesday evening.

Tensions are heating up on the borders between Greece and Turkey in the region of Evros, as reports say Turkish forces fired shots over a Greek patrol unit on the Greek side of the border on Tuesday.
