Shortly after noon, a government quartet consisting of Vice President of the Government Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of Rural Development Kostas Tsiaras, Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, and Deputy Minister of Finance Thanos Petralias is expected to announce and detail a framework of several interventions aimed at supporting the primary sector.

An increase in subsidies for the electricity bills of households and enterprises and a suspension of certain payments for larger enterprises using the medium-voltage grid are among a package of measures being planned by the government to support businesses and households to cope with higher energy costs, government sources said on Monday.

The government will issue an Act of Legislative Content with measures to avert and contain the spread of the new coronavirus, to be deployed as necessary depending on the progression of the disease worldwide and if there is a confirmed case of the virus in Greece, government spokesperson Stelios Petsas announced on Tuesday at a press briefing.
