George Prokopiou: His largest tanker, "Atokos", crossed the Strait of Hormuz

Greek shipowner George Prokopiou, whose ships have repeatedly transited the Strait of Hormuz during the Iran-Iraq war, has sent its largest oil supertanker since the conflict began. The Atokos, a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) with a capacity of about 2 million barrels, recorded a position signal in the Indian Ocean on Friday, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. This suggests that it had transited the Strait of Hormuz in the previous days with its tracking transmitter turned off.
