Turkey's protests over the transfer of a Patriot missile battery to the island of Karpathos have become official.
Athens responded immediately to the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s announcement of the “demilitarization regime” of the Aegean islands, in response to the Patriots in Karpathos, with Greek Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lana Zohiou speaking of “unfounded” and “unilateral allegations” that have been repeatedly rejected.
The transfer of a Patriot battery to Karpathos as part of the strengthening of the country's air defense due to the unrest prevailing in the Middle East was decided, according to information from protothema.gr, by the Ministry of National Defense.
