A startling public exchange between Nikos Christodoulides and Mevlut Cavusoglu, the respective Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey, took place in front of the press in New York on Monday.

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, received the leadership of the American-Jewish organization AIPAC, in New York, on the sidelines of his participation to the works of the UN General Assembly.

What’s important for the Turkish side is not the name of the solution model for the Cyprus issue, but for the solution to include political equality, effective participation in decision-making mechanisms and security guarantees, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said.
