Six Greek-Cypriot farmers were stopped yet again by the Turkish occupying forces from going to their farms in the UN buffer zone near the village of Denia, west of Nicosia.

"The tension between Turkey and Cyprus for raw materials in the eastern Mediterranean is escalating," the German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau (FR) observes in a report from Turkey, referring to the "arrival of ExxonMobile's Stena Icemax drilling machine at plot 10, 150 km southwest of the divided island."

Greece will continue to contribute "firmly and responsibly to the restoration of international legitimacy in Cyprus, which can only be achieved through the end of the occupation, the abolition of the anachronistic status of the guarantees and the reunification of Cyprus, on the basis of the UN Security Council Decisions," the Foreign Ministry stressed in a statement announcing the completion of 35 years of the unlawful and unilateral declaration of the "independence" of the pseudo-state.
