Cyprus is a small country and being an island it is surrounded by sea. This brings home a reality for the Greek-Cypriots: “If we want our freedom, there is nowhere to retreat!”

Στο πλαίσιο του μεταπτυχιακού προγράμματος «Διεθνείς Σπουδές» του Πανεπιστημίου Frederick στην Κύπρο, συνδιοργανώθηκε στις 19 Ιανουαρίου 2017 στην αίθουσα Τελετών και Εκδηλώσεων «Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος», από το Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick, το Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο, το Γενικό Επιτελείο Εθνικής Φρουράς και την Αστυνομία Κύπρου, διημερίδα, με θέμα: «Οι Διεθνείς Εξελίξεις στη Νοτιοανατολική Μεσόγειο, τη Μέση Ανατολή και την Τουρκία: πρόκληση στη Σταθερότητα, την Ενέργεια και την Ασφάλεια». Σημειώνεται ότι η συγκεκριμένη εκδήλωση αποτελεί την τρίτη σε σειρά επικαιροποιημένη ημερίδα με το ίδιο θέμα.

Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias referred to the chance of a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the guarantor powers in Cyprus, the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the representative of the Turkish Cypriot community, speaking to the press in Brussels, where he took part at the External Affairs Council of the EU 28.
