The US is expected to announce the funding of a master plan for the wider region of the Turkish occupied town of Famagusta, during next week's visit to Cyprus by Vice President Joe Biden. Biden is due on the island between 21-23 May.

Today, the European Court of Human Rights demanded that Turkey pay 90 million euros to Cyprus, regarding the 1974 invasion and its consequent division.

Outdated Cypriot laws allow for financial institutions to seize properties constructed on land from builders that have outstanding mortgages, even if the owners don't have any debt.
