Greece and Turkey signed a readmission agreement for migrants who cross the Aegean to be returned, building on the basis for a potential deal betweenthe EU and Ankara brokered in the early hours of the day regarding the direct resettlement of refugees.

The American Hellenic Institute and the Lexington Institute will host a presentation on Capitol Hill to rollout the new whitepaper, Souda Bay: NATO’S Military Gem, on Monday 21 March.

"There was convergence in practical issues and this is positive. We did not reach an agreement because Turkey's proposals were extremely radical for the majority of the EU member states," Alternate Foreign Minister responsible for European Affairs Nikos Xydakis stated to Athina 9.84 FM on Tuesday referring to the EU-Turkey Summit on the refugee issue.
