Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is to have a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York on Wednesday, at 9:45 local time. The meeting has been described as exploratory as it is Mitsotakis' first with the Turkish president since he became prime minister.

Frustration has seized the Turkish mission that has traveled to the United States for the 74th UN General Assembly, as - it seems - US President Donald Trump refuses to officially see his Turkish counterpart, Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey will be forced to let Syrian refugees on its territory flee to Europe if the West does not offer more assistance to the country and support in its plan to create a safe haven for refugees, Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Reuters in an interview,  doubling down on his threats against Europe.
