In rewsponse to statements made to the Financial Times by professor of political history Thanos Veremis the Foreign Minister of Greece sent Professor Veremis on August 29, the following threatening text through his lawyer.

The ministry of foreign affairs blasted on Wednesday an article published in the Financial Times that concerned a legal case won by Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias against a magazine, stating it "propagates unprecedented lies aimed at discrediting the Greek government".

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades praised the part played by Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras but also Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias in two separate interviews to Greek newspapers published on Sunday.
