Some 8.34 million medical face masks were received on Tuesday at Athens International Airport (AIA), in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Antonis Papadimitriou, president of the Onassis Foundation which completes a donation of 13.5 million masks to Greece’s healthcare system. 

"Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' determination in Evros and the battle against the coronavirus expresses all the Greeks and turned Greece from a black sheep into a positive example worldwide," Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos said in an interview with Kathimerini newspaper on Sunday.

The video conference of EU heads of state and government on the coronavirus concluded late on Thursday, with the participation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
