Greece and Bulgaria's transport ministries signed a memorandum of cooperation on Wednesday in the presence of Prime Ministers Alexis Tsipras and Boyko Borisov.

The Ionian highway is a stategic project for all Greece and Epirus and upgrades the country's role in the wider region, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday during the inauguration of the new road.

New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis criticized Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Monday on his public claims that he supports investments, saying his government's handling of Canadian miner Eldorado Gold's investment in northern Greece shows he is actually trying to block them.
