The Turkish Foreign Ministry responded to the joint statement of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt following the meeting of FMs Christodoulides, Sukri and Dendias, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly with a provocative statement.

A startling public exchange between Nikos Christodoulides and Mevlut Cavusoglu, the respective Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus and Turkey, took place in front of the press in New York on Monday.

What’s important for the Turkish side is not the name of the solution model for the Cyprus issue, but for the solution to include political equality, effective participation in decision-making mechanisms and security guarantees, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said.
