German newspaper “Handelsblatt” reports on the efforts made by Chancellor Angela Merkel for the release of the two Greek servicemen being held in a Turkish prison in Adrianople.

The two Greek servicemen under arrest in a maximum security prison in Adrianople, Turkey are being transferred to the court. The two will reportedly disclose their mobile phone PIN codes to the Turkish court. However, the Greek government denied this.

Ever since Greece declared an embargo on Turkish products, the Turkish town of Edirne (Adrianople), locaded just a few kilometers from the Evros Borders, has seen a slump in its economy, which is largely dependent on Greek consumers.
