The European Commission is still evaluating the measures announced by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici on Thursday said upon his arrival at the meeting of the European Socialists party in Brussels.

The debt relief is welcome but not enough to set the Greek economy on growth track, main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesday.

Yiannis Stournaras believes a timely adjustment of Greece’s debt is necessary, and in a statement today advocated lowering the target for a primary surplus of 2% in order to reduce the tax burden, explaining that doing so would enhance Greece’s growth prospects and facilitate its entrance into the financial markets.
