The Greek economy grew by 2.3 pct in the third quarter of 2019 compared with the same period in 2018, while Greek GDP grew 0.6 pct compared with the second quarter of 2019, the Hellenic Statistical Authority said in provisional figures released on Thursday.

Signs of improvement in the Greek economy are increasingly multiplying. According to the latest data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority, the unemployment rate in the country in the second quarter of this year was 16.9%, significantly lower than in the first and second quarter last year, (19.2% and 19% respectively).

The number of visitors to museums in Greece increased by 2.5% in May this year, while the number of free admissions fell by 2.2% and revenue rose by 4.1%, according to data by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
