Businessman and philanthropist Steve Kontos has been awarded the Medal of Freedom by the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware. This is the Federation’s highest award and one of the most prestigious awards presented in the Philadelphia tri-state area.

Valuable objects dating to the first half of the 2nd millennium BC, which likely formed parts of a gold necklace or a pendant used as a grave offering, were discovered during an excavation on Kolonna Hill in Aegina.
