In a climate of emotion and enthusiasm, the Greek Language Certificate Award Ceremony for levels A1 and A2 was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the CHIOTIS ceremony hall of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, accounting for 60–70% of all cases. According to the World Health Organization, more than 50 million people worldwide are living with dementia — and the number is expected to more than triple by 2050. In Greece, over 160,000 people already suffer from dementia and another 280,000 have mild cognitive impairment. If the caregivers who support the patients are also counted, then the disease directly affects approximately one million Greeks.

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou, today signed four Ministerial Decisions concerning hydrocarbon exploration in the marine areas south of the Peloponnese (blocks “A2” and “South of the Peloponnese”) and south of Crete (blocks “South of Crete 1” and “South of Crete 2”).
