Early in the morning, at a well-known dance floor in Athens, a group of ten people leave after paying around 1,000 euros for two premium bottles, a 1,750 ml vodka and a 750 ml gin. The first bottle is more than 2/3 full, while the second is almost full and looks as if it has not even been opened, a tangible example of what has been happening in recent months with alcohol consumption not only at bouzouki bars but also in clubs, bars and restaurants.

The farmers' protests at the Bralos blockade are set to escalate on Monday, following a unanimous decision by their general assembly held last night.
