A few days after the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Greece, the Minister of Education, Kostas Gavroglou was in favour the election of the Islamic Mufti in Komotini, under specific conditions.

Education Minister Kostas Gavroglou received a threatening email on his personal account on August 13, it was announced on Wednesday. 

"Not just excellent students go to the army , everyone goes," the Education Minister said on Monday, while he himself had used the 720/70 beneficial decree of the dictatorship, to forsake military service as being born in Constantinople in order to study abroad. This issue has caused tremendous uproar from the opposition.
