IMF Director Christine Lagarde said the Fund’s board had in principle agreed to approve a “stand by loan” based on specific data. In an interview with Italian newspaper “Il Sole 24 Ore”, Mrs. Lagarde argued that Greece needed a debt restructuring for the country’s economy to become sustainable.

There is serious evidence that the Greek economy can enter into a growth orbit based on a new growth model focusing on healthy business activity, investments and extroversion, Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras said on Friday.

Greek economy is expected to grow by 1.8 pct this year, 2.6 pct in 2018 and 1.9 pct in 2019, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Monday.
