Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will discuss the situation in Greece and the progress made in the implementation of the gas pipeline that will pass through Greek territory during their meeting in St Petersburg on Friday, Putin's main foreign policy adviser said on Wednesday.

The European Commission plans to revise down its growth forecast for Greece this year, its Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis was quoted as saying to German newspaper Handelsblatt.

The country's current account balance surplus showed an increase of 58% in the nine-month period from January to September 2014 compared to the same period last year.
