Greece is drawing increased tourist interest from across Europe and North America despite rising airfare costs and household budget pressures linked to the Middle East conflict, with American arrivals up 37% in January and German travelers abandoning long-haul destinations in favor of Greek islands, according to Greece's National Tourism Organization. 

Greece’s tourism industry has not yet been directly affected by the missile strikes and escalating conflict in the Middle East over the past week, according to leading figures in the sector.

Greece's tourism sector shattered previous records in 2025, drawing nearly 38 million visitors and generating a massive 23.6 billion euros ($25.6 billion) in revenue to provide a critical buffer for the national economy.
