A 55-year-old man, a worker at LARCO mining and metallurgical company's plant in Larymna, was killed on Wednesday during an explosion in the electric arc furnaces area.

Power utility PPC and Larco, the state-controlled general mining and nickel producer, will soon sign a mutually beneficial agreement on new electricity tariffs, Environment and Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis told SYRIZA MPs during a meeting on Thursday.

Total debts to the power utility DEH from unpaid bills currently total some 1.3 billion euros, an amount which is growing at an average rate of 4 million euros per day, according to a DEH official  statement to Kathimerini newspaper.
