Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG on Tuesday announced the start of operations of a 2 km section of the pipeline in Greece between the Evros river and the Kipoi compressor station.

New data are being developed in the Eastern Mediterranean following Egypt’s decision to support the investment project of the East Med gas pipeline promoted by Greece, Israel and Cyprus.

Over 50 percent of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in Greece (276km) has been placed in the ground and backfilled, while more than 95 percent of the line-pipes for the Greek section have been delivered to the ports of Kavala, Thessaloniki and Alexandroupolis, TAP Country Manager for Greece, Katerina Papalexandri, said at the 2nd Thessaloniki Summit.
