"Turkey is brutally violating international legality in the Middle East and its illegal actions will not be tolerated," President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos said on Monday, in statements marking the October 28 anniversary, when Greeks celebrate "Oxi" Day (pronounced Ohi) and their entry into World War II on the side of the Allies, in defiance of the Axis powers.

Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos on Sunday laid a wreath at the monument of the Siege of Tripolitsa, at Tripoli, Peloponnese, and said that "if necessary, Greeks will ensure the full and sincere respect for all international and European law, with the support of our NATO allies and our partners in the European Union."
