The “Parmenion” annual national defence exercise wrapped up on Thursday in eastern Rhodes in the presence of Defence Minister Panos Kammenos, Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, the chiefs of all branches of the Greek defence forces, and regional administration staff.

An alarm was raised by security services of Rhodes concerning the illegal entry into the country of 18 Turkish nationals who have applied for political asylum as being persecuted by the Erdogan government.

The island of Rhodes is expected to attract a large number of tourists this summer as the messages from the International Tourist Exhibition "Salon Mondial du Tourisme 2017" were very optimistic.
