Greek FinMin pledges extra 400 million euros in tourism industry aid
Greece will help its key tourist industry with an additional financial package worth more than 400 million euros ($486 million), the country's finance minister said on Monday. The country, which generates about a fifth of its economic output from tourism, officially opened the sector on Saturday, hoping to save the summer season after revenues collapsed last year due to restrictions to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Greek GDP data for 2020 better than expected
Greece on Friday announced better-than-expected GDP figures for 2020, with the country's Gross Domestic Product contracting by 8.2 pct to 168.5 billion euros from 183.6 billion in 2019.

The necessity to extend support measures
The continuation of support measures for households and enterprises and of a fiscal loosening is necessary, and this need is even bigger in countries whose economies are largely dependent on the services sector and sectors such as tourism, Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said on Monday, addressing a Eurogroup meeting.
