The Troika is expected in Athens tomorrow to continue negotiations on a number of thorny issues that have held back the disbursement of a 1 billion euro aid tranche that has been delayed for months.

In an interview to French daily "Liberation," Yannis Stournaras has expressed the hope that after four years of austerity, European partners will help Greece lower its debt so that it can be sustainable over the long term.

“We don't believe that there is an impasse with the Troika. Talks are continuing in a constructive climate. The aim is to complete them by year's end,” said Antonis Samaras after his meeting with Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels, on Wednesday.
