Israel opposes an accord signed last month between Libya and Turkey mapping out maritime boundaries in the eastern Mediterranean, but the deal was unlikely to lead to a conflict with Turkey, Israel’s foreign minister said on Monday.

In a letter to UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, Egypt has described the two memoranda signed between the government of Tripoli and Turkey as void and invalid, requesting that they not be registered, according to diplomatic sources.
