"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its strong concern over the incidents that took place yesterday, 30 May 2026, in Zvërnec, Albania, during a protest by residents over their property rights, among whom is a Greek citizen who was injured," the Foreign Ministry stated in an announcement on Sunday.
The incidents that occurred on Saturday in the Zvernets area, near Vlora, brought to the fore a controversy that has been quietly developing for two years around one of the largest investment projects that have been announced in Albania.
