Greek gymnast Lefteris Petrounias secured a bronze medal in the men's rings event at the Olympics, marking his third consecutive Olympic medal in this discipline.

A section of a Late Classical-period house (mid-4th century BC) featuring a mosaic floor with a central depiction of two satyrs was discovered during the installation of a new water pipeline in Eretria, Evia. According to the Ministry of Culture, the building is located in the heart of the ancient city, near Temple of Apollo Daphniforos and other notable sites.

Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate on Wednesday. According to a statement from the Ministry, Mendoni was briefed on the progress of the conservation work being carried out by European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments (EKBMM) at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Fener.
