Pirates have hijacked a Maltese-flagged tanker off the coast of Somalia, according to British maritime security company Ambrey.
The Greek-owned ship, the Hellas Aphrodite, is believed to be safe, and all 24 crew members are reported to be on board.

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday essentially announced another round of aircraft acquisitions for the Hellenic Air Force, namely, transport planes, as well as putting a number to the maximum combat fighter fleet the country aims to field.

“A black day for the West, for me and for the intelligent Christians of the West,” Afrodite Latinopoulou described Zohran Mamdani’s victory for the New York City mayoralty, arguing that “Islamism is the left’s last card to win elections.”

One of the most intense periods of new tanker ordering in recent years is underway, with Greek owners playing a leading role globally.
