Super swimmer Spyros Chrysikopoulos became the first person to swim from Greece to Italy
Spyros Chrysikopoulos, the famous Greek ultra-long-distance swimmer, made history by swimming the sea distance that separates Greece from Italy. According to his social media post, he started on Sunday, August 31st from Othonoi, the westernmost point of Greek territory in the Diapontia Islands, and arrived in Santa Maria di Leuca, on the tip of the Italian Salento peninsula, on Tuesday, September 1st.
