The Greeks are not wealthier than the Germans, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras told German newspaper Bild, referring to recent reports based on an European Central Bank (ECB) survey that Greeks are on average wealthier than the Germans.

An article published in the Wall Street Journal, speaking of a “secret meeting” concerning Greece, last Monday night, after the Eurogroup meeting, without the participation of finance minister Yannis Stournaras.

Greek banks are likely to need additional capital after results of a health check are finalised this month, the country's central bank said potentially threatening government plans.
