The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday revised, upwards, its forecast for the Greek economy this year, to 2.6 percent, up from its autumn forecast of 1.8 percent in October 2022.

The International Monetary Fund forecasts the Greek dent will soar to 200.8% of GDP, while the primary deficit will be 5.1% (instead of a surplus of 3.5% of GDP) in its forecast. The IMF also says the budget deficit will reach 9% of GDP for the country.

The IMF estimates that the effects of the coronavirus crisis on the Greek economy will be devastating due to the hard impact on tourism.
