In the first five months of 2014, the central government of Greece held a 711 million euro primary budget excess, in comparison to a 970 million euro deficit in last year's same timeframe, as confirmed by Deputy Finance Minster Christos Staikouras today.

Basic indicators and qualitative data show that Greece is still in the mire of economic stagnation, if not decline, refuting the government's success story.
