Lena Samara: The final farewell to Antonis Samaras’s daughter
In an emotional atmosphere, relatives and friends said their final goodbye to Lena Samara, the 34-year-old daughter of former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, who suddenly passed away last Thursday.
Mr. Samaras moved everyone with his eulogy, in which he said, among other things, "What can a father say who loses his child? What can a mother say who loses her flesh and blood? What can a brother say who loses his other half when his soul loses its most faithful companion?"

The body of Lena Samara, in a white coffin, was carried out of the church shortly after 1:40 PM, followed by her father, her mother Georgia, and her brother Konstantinos.
Those gathered outside the Church of Saints Theodoroi offered words of comfort, saying "stay strong" to Antonis Samaras and his family—words that had also been said to the former prime minister upon his arrival at the First Cemetery.
Today, at the First Cemetery of Athens, family, friends, and political figures gathered to bid a final farewell to Lena Samara, the 34-year-old daughter of former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, who passed away last Thursday. The atmosphere was heavy with grief as Mr. Samaras arrived with his son, Konstantinos, greeted by words of support—“Stay strong, President.” Earlier, his wife and Lena's mother, Georgia, had arrived, visibly shattered by the loss.
Among those present were the President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as well as numerous MPs, former ministers, close associates of Antonis Samaras, and friends of the young woman, all there to honor her memory.
