Samaras: SYRIZA plans would lead to Grexit

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras accused the opposition party SYRIZA of causing instability and abusing the constitution, and warned that the party’s ‘statist’ plans could lead Greece out of the Eurozone.

He made the comments speaking at the Hellenic Conferederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) in light of the government’s move to bring the presidential election forward to this month.

Greeks don’t want early elections and will punish those who try to force them, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said, adding lawmakers will have to behave responsibly.

Mr Samaras attacked the opposition party for its persistence in seeking to block the election of a Greek president.

He maintained that SYRIZA was creating uncertainty abroad, which the government dissolved by bringing forward the presidential election by a month and a half.
